Lingdom

Task 4, 5 and 6 featured in the workshop

CUDEVCLUB, founded and supported by Professor Ploy, is a club designed to be a hub for people interested in all kinds of things tech related. Whether that be Software Development, Machine Learning, Data Science, etc. It is certainly not limited to software development as the name suggests. I was invited into this club by the professor herself, she gave me the opportunity to plan and organize the workshop along with my friends, that workshop ended up being the “To-Do List Web Application Workshop” where we’d ideally take the attendees on a journey from building their basic to-do list app to deploying it on the VPS. I must admit that during that time, my mental state wasn’t the best and I did crash out. Fortunately, my professor and friends kindly supported me through my mental challenges and allowed me to push through what would be my proudest presentation that I ever gave. I did deviate a lot from the original plans and ended up with a Linux Command Line section to finish it off instead of the planned CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment).

Lingdom was my play on the word Linux + Kingdom. It was a fantasy-themed Linux Command Line part of the workshop where attendees will get to build and defend their kingdom directory. There would be a TUI application projected in front of the room listing the progress of everyone in each mission. They are free to customize their kingdom names and with the press of a button, I, the speaker, can send enemies into every kingdom for them to deal with. That is feasible because I had them all in one VPS instance with me as the root. Coming up with this idea was very fun and was made possible with the support of my professor and my friends. I cannot thank them enough. I attached the materials used in this workshop at the very top of this page. You are free to explore them however you want.
